Note on Lie Point Symmetries of Burgers Equations

open access: yesTrends in Computational and Applied Mathematics, 2010
. In this note we study the Lie point symmetries of a class of evolution equations and obtain a group classification of these equations. We also identify the classical Lie algebras that the symmetry Lie algebras are isomorphic to.

Precision Restoration to Minimize Soil Loss in a Watershed in the Atlantic Forest Domain

open access: yesLand Degradation &Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The Turvo River Watershed, located in the Zona da Mata region of Minas Gerais and part of the Doce River Basin, faces serious problems of erosion and soil degradation, which compromise and reduce the quality of local water resources. Given this scenario, it is essential to implement environmental recovery strategies that prioritize the ...

Pulsed Quantum Excitation

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
This manuscript demonstrates the improvements that single photon sources can gain if their source of excitation is quantum rather than classical. Illuminating a pair of identical two‐level systems, the author shows that the excitation with pulses of quantum light yields more antibunched and more indistinguishable emission than if the excitation were ...

Nonabelian embedding tensors on 3-Lie algebras and 3-Leibniz-Lie algebras

open access: yesElectronic Research Archive
The purpose of this paper is to study nonabelian embedding tensors on 3-Lie algebras, and to explore the fundamental algebraic structures, cohomology and deformations associated with them.

Rational points in a family of conics over F2(t)$\mathbb {F}_2(t)$

open access: yesMathematische Nachrichten, EarlyView.
Abstract Serre famously showed that almost all plane conics over Q$\mathbb {Q}$ have no rational point. We investigate versions of this over global function fields, focusing on a specific family of conics over F2(t)$\mathbb {F}_2(t)$ which illustrates new behavior.

On an analogue of Schur's theorem for Leibniz $n$-algebras

open access: yesResearches in Mathematics
In this paper, we investigate relationships between certain important subalgebras of Leibniz $n$-algebras. In particular, we establish a close connection between the central factor-algebra of a Leibniz $n$-algebra and its derived ideal. As an application,

A note on the Zariski lemma for Hopf algebras

open access: yesAtti della Accademia Peloritana dei Pericolanti : Classe di Scienze Fisiche, Matematiche e Naturali, 2004
The formulation of the lemma of Zariski is given for coactions of a class of Hopf algebras of the additive group on algebras. Known formulations and consequences of the lemma of Zariski for derivations and differentiations are revised.

POLYCYCLIC GROUPS, ANALYTIC GROUPS AND ALGEBRAIC GROUPS

open access: yesProceedings of the London Mathematical Society, 2002
A group \(G\) is poly-(infinite cyclic) if it has a finite subnormal series \(G=G_n\geq G_{n-1}\geq\cdots\geq G_1\geq G_0=1\) such that each quotient \(G_i/G_{i-1}\) is infinite cyclic. A basis for a poly-(infinite cyclic) group is a sequence of elements \((x_1,\dots,x_n)\) such that \(G_i=(x_1,\dots,x_i)\).

BRST Operator for Quantum Lie Algebras: Relation to Bar Complex

open access: yes, 2007
Quantum Lie algebras (an important class of quadratic algebras arising in the Woronowicz calculus on quantum groups) are generalizations of Lie (super) algebras. Many notions from the theory of Lie (super)algebras admit ``quantum'' generalizations.

Vector bundles on bielliptic surfaces: Ulrich bundles and degree of irrationality

open access: yesMathematische Nachrichten, EarlyView.
Abstract This paper deals with two problems about vector bundles on bielliptic surfaces. The first is to give a classification of Ulrich bundles on such surfaces S$S$, which depends on the topological type of S$S$. In doing so, we study the weak Brill–Noether property for moduli spaces of sheaves with isotropic Mukai vector. Adapting an idea of Moretti
