Group Delay of Acoustic Emissions in the Ear
Journal of Neurophysiology, 2006It is commonly accepted that the cochlea emits sound by a backward traveling wave along the cochlear partition. This belief is mainly based on an observation that the group delay of the otoacoustic emission measured in the ear canal is twice as long as the forward delay.

On the design of allpasses with prescribed group delay
International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 2002The design of allpasses with group delays approximating a desired function is discussed. The method is based on a representation of the group delay of an allpass as a Fourier-series expansion and on a calculation of the transfer function of the allpass using a finite number of the corresponding coefficients.

Negative group delay circuit with independently tunable center frequency and group delay
2013 Asia-Pacific Microwave Conference Proceedings (APMC), 2013In this paper, a design of negative group delay circuit (NGDC) with independently tunable center frequency and group delay (GD) is presented. Since the proposed structure consists of a parallel RLC resonance circuit, it is possible to obtain a variable negative GD by using a variable resistor and an adjustment of center frequency of GD is possible due ...

Optimum design of group delay equalizers
Digital Signal Processing, 2011This paper introduces a novel optimization procedure for the design of group delay equalizers, which is simple to implement, robust and of fast convergence. A pole-zero placement technique is applied to ensure filter stability and direct updating equations.

Group delay features for emotion detection
Interspeech 2007, 2007This paper focuses on speech based emotion classification utilizing acoustic data. The most commonly used acoustic features are pitch and energy, along with prosodic information like the rate of speech. We propose the use of a novel feature based on the phase response of an all-pole model of the vocal tract obtained from linear predictive coefficients (

Multistage Decimators with Minimum Group Delay
2010 IEEE International Conference on Communications, 2010In this paper we face the issue of the most effective implementation of multistage decimators in terms of group delay minimization. Here we derive the design criteria to minimize the group delay of multistage decimators and we check their validity comparing the analytical outcomes with the 'experimental' outcomes obtained through the design of a ...

Phase estimation by bispectrum: A group delay approach
Signal Processing, 1991A method of extracting the system phase from the bispectrum phase, based on a group delay approach, is proposed. The system phase estimation is achieved by relating the bispectral phase to the system group delay function. The proposed method has certain advantages over some of the existing methods.

Group delay, partial group delay and index-lag relationship for multidimensional processes
Communications in Statistics - Theory and Methods, 1990The group delay vector between two multidimensional weakly stationary processes and the partial group delay vector among the components of a multiple multidimensional weakly stationary processes are defined. With group delay and partial group delay, the linear index-lagged relationships among the components of a multiple multidimensional stochastic ...

Subpixel Delay Estimation Using Group Delay Functions
SPIE Proceedings, 1986A problem of much interest is the estimation of the delay or shift between two signals or images. In this paper, we investigate the use of recently proposed [Yegnanarayana et.al., IEEE Trans. ASSP, Vol 32, 610, 1984] Group Delay Functions (GDFs) for estimating the delay between two signals.
