Relating Functional Groups to the Periodic Table
Journal of Chemical Education, 2009An introduction to organic chemistry functional groups and their ionic variants is presented. Functional groups are ordered by the position of their specific (hetero) atom in the periodic table. Lewis structures are compared with their corresponding condensed formulas.

The group VIII platinum-group metals and the Periodic Table
Foundations of Chemistry, 2009The six platinum group metals (pgms: ruthenium, rhodium, palladium, osmium, iridium and platinum) posed a number of problems for 19th-century chemists, including Mendeleev, for their Periodic classification. This account discusses the discovery of the pgms, the determination of their atomic weights and their classification.

Regularities of Vaporization of Periodic Table Group IVA Element Phosphates
Glass Physics and Chemistry, 2001The vaporization of glass-forming phosphates of the periodic table Group IVA elements is studied by high-temperature mass spectrometry. Analyses of qualitative and quantitative vapor compositions have revealed a number of regularities that allow the prediction of the character of the vaporization of polyvalent element phosphates.
