SUMMARYIn this paper, we formulate and solve the selfish allocation problem by using game theory, which is different from the previously studied researches in three ways that make it more accurately reflective of real world peer‐to‐peer (P2P) allocation: (i) we treat the nodes as strategic agents and treat the replica allocation as a deliberate auction

SGAM: strategy‐proof group buying‐based auction mechanism for virtual machine allocation in clouds
Concurrency and Computation: Practice and Experience, 2015SummaryWe study the cloud resource auction problem where users can bid for resource bundle containing heterogeneous types of virtual machines, and providers allocate virtual machines to their users through group price model. Compared with fixed price model, which is not always the best approach for trading resources as its economically inefficient and ...

Group-Strategy-Proof Mechanisms for Job Matching with Continuous Transfers
SSRN Electronic Journal, 2018We show that several classical results (the existence of a worker-optimal stable allocation, the rural hospitals theorem, the group-strategy-proofness of the worker-optimal stable mechanism) extend from the discrete to the continuous case in a generalized job matching model.

Group strategy proof mechanisms via primal-dual algorithms
44th Annual IEEE Symposium on Foundations of Computer Science, 2003. Proceedings., 2004We develop a general method for turning a primal-dual algorithm into a group strategy proof cost-sharing mechanism. We use our method to design approximately budget balanced cost sharing mechanisms for two NP-complete problems: metric facility location, and single source rent-or-buy network design.

On (Group) Strategy-Proof Mechanisms without Payment for Facility Location Games
2010We characterize the performance of strategyproof and groupstrategyproof social choice rules, for placing a facility on the nodes of a metric network inhabited by N autonomous self-interested agents. Every agent owns a set of locations and caters to minimization of its cost which is the total distance from the facility to its locations.
