Streaming potential analysis of hair variation: Ethnicities and environmental exposures

Ethnicity and weathering shape electrokinetic behaviour and particle deposition in hair. ζ‐potential magnitudes ranked Caucasian > Indian > Chinese with no significant root‐tip variations. Deposition patterns generally correlate with ζ‐potential but differ by ethnicity, implicating other factors.

Novel electrokinetic analysis reveals how cationic surfactant deposition on hair is influenced by chain length and counterion mobility. Longer‐chain surfactants show superior adsorption through enhanced van der Waals interactions, while chloride counterions enable stronger electrostatic interactions.

Defining and decoding skin glow of women with skin phototype IV+ living in South Africa: Part 1

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cosmetic Science, EarlyView.
This study is the first to decode glowing skin for African women with phototype IV+. It reveals that radiant, smooth and healthy‐looking skin is key attributes for glowing skin. By analysing consumer terminology, routines and hinderances, our findings provide a foundation for developing skincare solutions tailored to these unique needs.
