STPAS: Spatial-Temporal Filtering-Based Perception and Analysis System for Precision Aerial Spraying

open access: yesIEEE Access
This study proposes a perception and analysis method for precise aerial spraying based on three-dimensional (3D) deep learning. Point cloud data for water droplets are acquired using 3D LiDAR, and the PointNet++ deep learning model is trained to classify

Predicting Chronicity in Children and Adolescents With Newly Diagnosed Immune Thrombocytopenia at the Timepoint of Diagnosis Using Machine Learning‐Based Approaches

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives To identify predictors of chronic ITP (cITP) and to develop a model based on several machine learning (ML) methods to estimate the individual risk of chronicity at the timepoint of diagnosis. Methods We analyzed a longitudinal cohort of 944 children enrolled in the Intercontinental Cooperative immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) Study ...

A Systematic Review of Evidence on the Clinical Effectiveness of Surveillance Imaging in Children With Medulloblastoma and Ependymoma

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Surveillance imaging aims to detect tumour relapse before symptoms develop, but it's unclear whether earlier detection of relapse leads to better outcomes in children and young people (CYP) with medulloblastoma and ependymoma. This systematic review aims to identify relevant literature to determine the efficacy of surveillance magnetic ...

Application of Clustering Algorithm CLOPE to the Query Grouping Problem in the Field of Materialized View Maintenance

open access: yesJournal of Computing and Information Technology, 2016
In recent years, materialized views (MVs) are widely used to enhance the database performance by storing pre-calculated results of resource-intensive queries in the physical memory.

Flexible Multi-Group Single-Carrier Modulation: Optimal Subcarrier Grouping and Rate Maximization

open access: yes, 2017
Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) and single-carrier frequency domain equalization (SC-FDE) are two commonly adopted modulation schemes for frequency-selective channels. Compared to SC-FDE, OFDM generally achieves higher data rate, but at

Prognostic Impact of Treatment Modalities, Including Targeted Compartmental Radio‐Immunotherapy, in a Cohort of Neuroblastoma Patients With CNS Metastases at Relapse

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Neuroblastoma (NB) with central nervous system (CNS) metastases is rare at diagnosis, but occurs more often during relapse/progression. Patients with CNS metastases face a dismal prognosis, with no standardized curative treatment available.

Exploring the relative lack of impact of research on ‘ability grouping’ in England: a discourse analytic account

open access: yes, 2017
Grouping students by ‘ability’ is a topic of long-standing contention in English education policy, research and practice. While policy-makers have frequently advocated the practice as reflecting educational ‘standards’, research has consistently failed ...

Grouping Attribute Recognition for Pedestrian with Joint Recurrent Learning

open access: yesInternational Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence, 2018
Pedestrian attributes recognition is to predict attribute labels of pedestrian from surveillance images, which is a very challenging task for computer vision due to poor imaging quality and small training dataset.

Linear groups and group rings

open access: yesJournal of Algebra, 2006
The authors' prime objective is to prove that the integral group ring \(\mathbb{Z} G\) of the non-Abelian finite group \(G\) of order prime to 6 contains two Bass cyclic units that generate a non-Abelian free group. A Bass cyclic unit of \(\mathbb{Z} G\) is an element of the form \[ (1+x+\cdots+x^{k-1})^m+d^{-1}(1-k^m)(1+x+\cdots+x^{d-1}), \] where \(x\

Pathogenic Germline PALB2 and RAD50 Variants in Patients With Relapsed Ewing Sarcoma

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Approximately 10% of patients with Ewing sarcoma (EwS) have pathogenic germline variants. Here, we report two cases: first, a novel germline pathogenic variant in partner and localizer of BRCA2 (PALB2) in a patient with a late EwS relapse. Its impact on homologous recombination is demonstrated, and breast cancer risk is discussed.
