GVZ-groups, Flat groups, and CM-Groups [PDF]

open access: yesComptes Rendus. Mathématique, 2021
We show that a group is a GVZ-group if and only if it is a flat group. We show that the nilpotence class of a GVZ-group is bounded by the number of distinct degrees of irreducible characters. We also show that certain CM-groups can be characterized as GVZ-groups whose irreducible character values lie in the prime field.

Group Connectivity and Group Coloring: Small Groups versus Large Groups [PDF]

open access: yesThe Electronic Journal of Combinatorics, 2020
A well-known result of Tutte says that if $\Gamma$ is an Abelian group and $G$ is a graph having a nowhere-zero $\Gamma$-flow, then $G$ has a nowhere-zero $\Gamma'$-flow for each Abelian group $\Gamma'$ whose order is at least the order of $\Gamma$. Jaeger, Linial, Payan, and Tarsi observed that this does not extend to their more general concept of ...

Bottom-Up Object Detection by Grouping Extreme and Center Points [PDF]

open access: yesComputer Vision and Pattern Recognition, 2019
With the advent of deep learning, object detection drifted from a bottom-up to a top-down recognition problem. State of the art algorithms enumerate a near-exhaustive list of object locations and classify each into: object or not.

Changes in milk production and estimated income over feed cost of group-housed dairy cows when moved between pens

open access: yesJournal of Dairy Science, 2023
: Several studies have shown advantages of feeding cows in groups according to their nutrient requirements. However, there are concerns about losing milk when cows change from a high- to a low-nutrient diet.
