R-groups for metaplectic groups

open access: yesIsrael Journal of Mathematics, 2019
In this short note, we completely describe a parabolically induced representation IndSp(2n)˜P(σ), its length and multiplicities. Here Sp(2n)˜ is a p-adic metaplectic group, and σ is a discrete series representation of a Levi subgroup of P. A multiplicity one result follows.

Conceptual and representational confusion: An analysis of three foundation phase teachers’ descriptions of how they teach division

open access: yesSouth African Journal of Childhood Education, 2020
Background: In the foundation phase, division is split along the lines of grouping (quotition) and sharing (partition). Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statements (CAPS) recommends that representations such as drawings, concrete apparatus, and symbols ...

From Quantum Groups to Groups [PDF]

open access: yesCanadian Journal of Mathematics, 2013
AbstractIn this paper we use the recent developments in the representation theory of locally compact quantum groups, to assign to each locally compact quantum group 𝔾 a locally compact group 𝔾˜ that is the quantum version of point-masses and is an invariant for the latter. We show that “quantum point-masses” can be identified with several other locally

Grouping Based Blind Interference Alignment for $K$-user MISO Interference Channels

open access: yes, 2015
We propose a blind interference alignment (BIA) through staggered antenna switching scheme with no ideal channel assumption. Contrary to the ideal assumption that channels remain constant during BIA symbol extension period, when the coherence time of the

The Efficacy and Safety of Bevacizumab/Irinotecan/Temozolomide (BIT) for Relapsed/Refractory Neuroblastoma: The UK Children's Cancer and Leukaemia Group Experience

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Patients with high‐risk neuroblastoma who either are refractory to induction chemotherapy or relapse following multi‐modal treatment have a dismal prognosis. Based on data from the BEACON trial, since 2021 the UK national guidelines recommend bevacizumab, irinotecan, and temozolomide (BIT) for patients with relapsed/refractory ...

Grouping and Reflection of the Artificial Bee Colony Algorithm for High-Dimensional Numerical Optimization Problems

open access: yesIEEE Access
The artificial bee colony (ABC) algorithm, inspired by the cooperative foraging behaviors observed in bees, is a prominent example of a swarm intelligence algorithm that offers significant advantages in optimization problems. However, the efficacy of the

Group Medicine [PDF]

open access: yesSouthern Medical Journal, 1919
Dr. Davis emphasizes the wastefulness of present methods of family doctoring. He says that the existing system should be replaced by a co-ordinated one, which for the poor is exemplified in hospitals and dispensaries. He pleads for efficiency in the treatment of the man of moderate income as well as for the penniless.
