Large‐Scale Genomics Reveals Three‐Source Ancestry and Layered Adaptation to High Altitude in Tibetan Chickens

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Whole‐genome analysis of 1,054 chickens reveals three ancestral sources (NWC, SYA, and SHF) with distinct temporal entry patterns into the Tibetan Plateau. Route‐specific selection scans, calibrated against a demographic null, suggest complementary functional enrichments—vascular homeostasis (NWC), calcium signaling and cardiac adaptation (SYA), and ...

The first ℓ2-Betti number and groups acting on trees

open access: yes
We generalise results of Thomas, Allcock, Thom-Petersen, and Kar-Niblo to the first ℓ2-Betti number of quotients of certain groups acting on trees by subgroups with free actions on the edge sets of the ...

Personalized Network‐Guided Neuromodulation Enhances Human Working Memory

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A personalized neuromodulation framework combining individualized functional brain network targeting with real‐time neural decoding is introduced. Using concurrent TMS–fMRI, participant‐specific stimulation targets and optimal frequencies are identified. Only optimal‐frequency stimulation improves working memory across sessions.

Groups acting on trees with prescribed local action

open access: yes
We extend the Burger–Mozes theory of closed, nondiscrete, locally quasiprimitive automorphism groups of locally finite, connected graphs to the semiprimitive case, and develop a generalization of Burger–Mozes universal groups acting on the regular tree ...

ML Workflows for Screening Degradation‐Relevant Properties of Forever Chemicals

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The environmental persistence of per‐ and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) necessitates efficient remediation strategies. This study presents physics‐informed machine learning workflows that accurately predict critical degradation properties, including bond dissociation energies and polarizability.

Multi‐Omics Profiling Reveals Immunomodulatory and Pro‐Regenerative Effects of a Graphene Oxide–Collagen Scaffold in Massive Rotator Cuff Tears

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A graphene oxide/collagen scaffold is developed for chronic massive rotator cuff tear repair. The scaffold improves compressive stability, supports reparative mesenchymal differentiation, and modulates the immune microenvironment. In chronic MRCT models, it reduces muscle degeneration, enhances tendon–bone regeneration, and improves functional recovery,

Homomorphic images of locally compact groups acting on trees and buildings

open access: yes
We study analogues of Cartan decompositions of Lie groups for totally disconnected locally compact groups. It is shown using these decompositions that a large class of totally disconnected locally compact groups acting on trees and buildings have the ...
