On Suzuki 2-groups of finite Morley rank

Journal of Group Theory, 2003
A Suzuki 2-group is defined to be a pair \((G,T)\), where \(G\) is a nilpotent 2-group of bounded exponent and \(T\) is an Abelian group that acts on \(G\) by automorphisms so that the action of \(T\) on the involutions of \(G\) is transitive. If, in addition, \(T\) acts on \(G\) freely, \((G,T)\) is called a free Suzuki 2-group.

Groups of Finite Morley Rank

1994
Abstract The book is devoted to the theory of groups of finite Morley rank. These groups arise in model theory and generalize the concept of algebraic groups over algebraically closed fields. The book contains almost all the known results in the subject.

A central decomposition of connected groups of finite Morley rank

Journal of group theroy
We introduce a simple equivalence relation on strongly minimal sets in a structure of finite Morley rank, which corresponds, in stability theory, to the non-orthogonality of the associated types.

Pseudo-tori and subtame groups of finite Morley rank

Journal of Group Theory, 2009
The paper provides a generalization of the notion of a decent torus, an abstract version in groups of finite Morley rank of the notion of algebraic tori in algebraic groups. Here a pseudo-torus is a divisible Abelian group of finite Morley rank with no definable quotient definably isomorphic to the additive group of a field interpretable in the ...

Groups of finite Morley rank with transitive group automorphisms

Journal of Symbolic Logic, 1989
The aim of this short note is to prove the following result:Theorem. Let G be a group of finite Morley rank with Aut G acting transitively on G/{1}. Then G is either abelian or a bad group.Bad groups were first defined by Cherlin [Ch]: these are groups of finite Morley rank without solvable and nonnilpotent connected subgroups.

On Frobenius groups of finite Morley rank II

1994
Abstract This is a continuation of the previous article by Nesin in this volume. The reader is invited to read the introduction of that article. We shall adopt the same notation throughout. In this article, we will first show that if T < B is a Frobenius group of finite Morley rank where Tis finite, then Bis split ...
