In recent years, high-throughput robotic setups have been developed to automate the protein crystallization experiments, and imaging techniques are used to monitor the crystallization progress. Images are collected multiple times during the course of an experiment.

Optimal Growth. Continuous Time Analysis
2009Maintaining the same structure of the neoclassical growth model of Solow and Swan we have reviewed in the previous chapter, Cass [18] and Koopmans [52] characterized the optimal rate of capital accumulation in order to maximize some social welfare criterion.

Optimal Growth: Discrete Time Analysis
2009In this chapter we present the discrete time version of some of the issues discussed in the previous chapter. We introduce a government in the economy, and define and characterize the competitive equilibrium. The intertemporal government budget constraint, the relationship between the competitive equilibrium allocation and that of the benevolent ...

Growth analysis of crambe (Crambe abyssinica Hochst. ex R. E. Fries) is important for the use of proper production practices and adequate pest management strategies. This study evaluated the heat unit requirements and quantitative characteristics of crambe growth [leaf area index (LAI), leaf area duration (LAD), yield, and total biomass] and the impact

Analysis of serial growth data
American Journal of Human Biology, 1993AbstractHuman growth has been described qualitatively by several different mathematical formulations that have concentrated on the form of the central tendency and have largely neglected analysis of any short duration components of the experimental observations.

Growth Determination and Medium Analysis
2003The importance of plant cell suspension cultures as a research tool in various aspects of plant biology is well established. A basic requirement of work with plant cell suspension cultures is the ability to monitor growth on the basis of various parameters.

Sowing of two genotypes of linseed (DPL-21 and KL-31) on two spacings (10 x 10 cm and 30 x 10 cm) and four levels of nitrogen (0, 40, 80 and 120 kg/ha) showed that KL-31 recorded more leaf area, LAI, LAD, AGR, CGR, total dry matter accumulation (except 30 DAS) at all crop growth stages, Grain, straw and fibre yield were also highest in this genotype ...

Analysis of periodic growth–disturbance models
Theoretical Population Biology, 2004In this paper, I present and discuss a potentially useful modeling approach for investigating population dynamics in the presence of disturbance. Using the motivating example of wildfire, I construct and analyze a deterministic model of population dynamics with periodic disturbances independent of spatial effects.
