Effects of Peganum harmala L. Seed Extract on Culex pipiens (Diptera: Culicidae)

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Biology, 2021
Mosquito-borne diseases result in the loss of life and economy, primarily in subtropical and tropical countries, and the emerging resistance to insecticides is increasing this threat.

Evaluation of the growth of maize in monoculture and when associated with peanuts and cassava in the Colombian Amazon

open access: yesAgronomía Colombiana, 2023
Crop associations are widely recognized as a highly beneficial strategy for agriculture. By combining different crops, optimal production is achieved while minimizing the spread of pests and diseases.

Observational constraints on growth index with cosmography [PDF]

open access: yesThe European Physical Journal C, 2019
In the literature, it was proposed that the growth index $ $ is useful to distinguish the scenarios of dark energy and modified gravity. In the present work, we consider the constraints on the growth index $ $ by using the latest observational data. To be model-independent, we use cosmography to describe the cosmic expansion history, and also expand ...

Cell cycle analysis of brain cells as a growth index in larval cod at different feeding conditions and temperatures

open access: yesScientia Marina, 2007
The percentage of cells dividing in a specific tissue of individual larvae can be estimated by analyzing DNA per cell by flow cytometry. An experimental test was carried out with cod (Gadus morhua) larvae, with brain as the target tissue, to validate ...

Refractive Index Sensing for Measuring Single Cell Growth

open access: yesACS Nano, 2021
Accessing cell growth on adhesive substrates is critical for identifying biophysical properties of cells and their therapeutic response to drug therapies. However, optical techniques have low sensitivity, and their reliability varies with cell type, whereas microfluidic technologies rely on cell suspension.

Spatio-Temporal Variation of Elemental Contamination and Health of Mya arenaria Clam in the Saguenay–St. Lawrence Marine Park

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
The impacts of pollution and long-term effects of local clam populations are misunderstood in estuaries. The purpose of this study was to follow inorganic contamination in tissues, changes of physiological health indicators, such as condition factor (CF),

Simulating growth of the h‐index

open access: yesJournal of the American Society for Information Science and Technology, 2008
AbstractTemporal growth of the h‐index in a diachronous cumulative time series is predicted to be linear by Hirsch (2005), whereas other models predict a concave increase. Actual data generally yield a linear growth or S‐shaped growth. We study the h‐index's growth in computer simulations of the publication‐citation process.

Finitely generated groups with polynomial index growth [PDF]

open access: yesJournal für die reine und angewandte Mathematik (Crelles Journal), 2007
We prove that a finitely generated soluble residually finite group has polynomial index growth if and only if it is a minimax group. We also show that if a finitely generated group with PIG is residually finite-soluble then it is a linear group.
