Crystal growth kinetics of pentaerythritol

The Chemical Engineering Journal and the Biochemical Engineering Journal, 1995
Abstract The growth kinetics of pentaerythritol (PE) in aqueous solutions were determined from batch and continuous experiments; growth rate values about two orders of magnitude lower were obtained operating in batch mode. This behaviour, which agrees with previous results reported by various authors, validates the hypothesis that some impurity ...

Crystal growth kinetics

Materials Science and Engineering, 1984
Abstract A review of crystal growth kinetics is presented, beginning with the first atomistic models. The development of our understanding of the cooperative processes involved in the formation of new crystal layers during growth and the central role played by surface roughness are reviewed.

Kinetics of Haemopoietic Colony Growth

British Journal of Haematology, 1971
Summary. On continuous whole‐body γ irradiation at a dose rate of 70 rad/day the colony forming haemopoietic stem cells (CFU) show a biphasic dose–response curve where the first steeper phase is indistinguishable from the acute dose–response curve, indicating a lack of dose‐rate effect.

Field theory for growth kinetics

Physical Review B, 1988
We present a new field-theory method for growth-kinetics problems which describes the entire time evolution of the system from the early stage after the quench until final equilibrium is attained. The method is developed for a scalar order parameter (conserved or nonconserved) with dynamics of the Langevin type and a systematic low-temperature ...

Growth kinetics of platelet thrombi

Journal of Theoretical Biology, 1977
Abstract A model for the kinetics of a platelet thrombus growth is presented, which takes into account the principal hydrodynamic and cellular adhesion features of thrombus development. These consist of the rate at which platelets encounter the growing thrombus, their residence time near the surface of the thrombus, the rate of escape over the ...

Nucleation and growth transformation kinetics

Physical Review B, 1995
As a result of the reassessment of the Kolmogorov-Johnson-Mehl-Avrami (KJMA) theory for the kinetics of nucleation and growth transformations, an integral-equation formulation has been developed instead of the well-known and widely used Avrami equation.

Growth hormone kinetics in diabetic patients

Diabetes, 1975
Several reports have shown that average plasma GH concentrations in insulin-treated and in juvenile diabetics are elevated in respect to normal values: these findings have been alternatively attributed to an increased pituitary GH secretion or to a lower GH catabolism induced by the disease.

Crystal Growth Kinetics

1982
In this chapter we review the various growth kinetics models (“crystal growth theories”) for the steady-state formation of a solid phase from a fluid nutrient phase near equilibrium. We concentrate only on the interfacial atomic kinetics. Macroscopic growth morphologies (e.g., step bunching and macrosteps) 1, 3, 23, 55 are not considered.

Random nucleation and growth kinetics

Physical Review B, 1996
The classical Kolmogorov-Johnson-Mehl-Avrami (KJMA) equation for nucleation and growth transformations, which assumes random nucleation and cessation of growth where grains impinge, was originally derived by accounting for the {open_quote}{open_quote}extended volume{close_quote}{close_quote} that is obtained when overlap of the growing grains is ...
