Shape and Composition Evolution in an Alloy Core–Shell Nanowire Heterostructure Induced by Adatom Diffusion

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2023
A core–shell nanowire heterostructure is an important building block for nanowire-based optoelectronic devices. In this paper, the shape and composition evolution induced by adatom diffusion is investigated by constructing a growth model for alloy core ...

Growth Prediction of Alicyclobacillus acidoterrestris in Orange Juice Based on Near-infrared Spectroscopy

open access: yesShipin gongye ke-ji, 2023
Alicyclobacillus acidoterrestris is the dominant spoilage bacteria resulting the deterioration of orange juice. To simulate the growth of Alicyclobacillus acidoterrestris in orange juice, near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopy technique was used to predict the

Nitrogen Sources Take Roles on Different Growth Balance of Red Beet (Beta vulgaris)

open access: yesAGRIVITA Journal of Agricultural Science, 2022
One aim of productivity improvement on red beet was to restrain over-reducing the betacyanin as a secondary metabolite.  Different nitrogen (N) sources were projected to affect growth, yield, and both primary and secondary plant metabolites.

Age and growth of small red scorpionfish, Scorpaena notata (Actinopterygii: Scorpaeniformes: Scorpaenidae), a common discard species from the Portuguese fishery [PDF]

open access: yesActa Ichthyologica et Piscatoria, 2015
Background. The small red scorpionfish, Scorpaena notata Rafinesque, 1810, appears as a bycatch of Portuguese fisheries. Bycatch species are likely to suffer the same declines as commercial species with which they co-occur but information on those ...

On the Fluctuations of Internal DLA on the Sierpinski Gasket Graph

open access: yesMathematical and Computational Applications, 2023
Internal diffusion limited aggregation (IDLA) is a random aggregation model on a graph G, whose clusters are formed by random walks started in the origin (some fixed vertex) and stopped upon visiting a previously unvisited site.

Life‐history traits and fitness of plateau pika (Ochotona curzoniae) in alpine meadow ecosystem

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, 2022
Plateau pika (Ochotona curzoniae) is an endemic mammal living in the alpine meadow ecosystem in Qinghai–Tibet Plateau. We studied life history of plateau pika by mark–recapturing method.

Bomb Radiocarbon, Otolith Daily Increments and Length Modes Validate Age Interpretations of Chilean Jack Mackerel (Trachurus murphyi)

open access: yesFrontiers in Marine Science, 2022
Ages of Chilean jack mackerel (Trachurus murphyi) in the southern Pacific Ocean were validated using three methods: 1) daily microincrement readings in sagittal otoliths of young-of-the year (YOY) fish to validate the first annulus; 2) modal progression ...

Model for striped growth [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review E, 2004
We introduce a model for describing the defected growth of striped patterns. This model, while roughly related to the Swift-Hohenberg model, generates a quite different mixture of defects during phase ordering. We find two characteristic lengths in the system: the scaling length L(t), and the average width of the domain walls.
