The growth of cultured juvenile fish is usually quantified by two indexes, the specific growth rate or SGR, and the thermal-unit growth coefficient or TGC. The SGR is a relative growth index based on logarithms of body weights, and it decreases with body

Simulating Root Density Dynamics and Nitrogen Uptake -Field Trials and Root Model Approach in Denmark [PDF]
Plant soil and atmosphere models are commonly used to predict crop yield and associated environmental consequences. Such models often include complex modelling of water movement, soil organic matter turnover and above ground plant growth.

This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

The Structuralist Growth Model [PDF]
This paper examines the underlying theory of structuralist growth models in an effort to compare that framework with the standard approach of Solow and others. Both the standard and structuralist models are solved in a common mathematical framework that emphasizes their similarities.

Nonlinear Growth Models for Modeling Oil Palm Yield Growth
This study provided the basic needs of parameters estimation for nonlinear growth model such as partial derivatives of each model, determination of initial values for each parameter and statistical tests of industrial usage. Twelve nonlinear growth models and its partial derivatives for oil palm yield growth are presented in this study.

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

A cellular automata modelling of dendritic crystal growth based on Moore and von Neumann neighbourhood [PDF]
An important step in understanding crystal growth patterns involves simulation of the growth processes using mathematical models. In this paper some commonly used models in this area are reviewed, and a new simulation model of dendritic crystal growth ...
