Influence of Reproduction and Basal Area on the Increment of Euterpe edulis
The diameter increments of Euterpe edulis was characterized in order to understand the influence of reproduction and forest basal area on its growth and to represent its development through polynomial models.

Slow crack growth : models and experiments [PDF]
The properties of slow crack growth in brittle materials are analyzed both theoretically and experimentally. We propose a model based on a thermally activated rupture process.

This article develops a framework for studying the politics of growth models. These, the authors posit, are sustained by ‘growth coalitions’ based in key sectors. Their members are first and foremost firms and employer associations, but fractions of labor are also included, if their interests do not impair the model’s functionality.

Forecasting growth with time series models [PDF]
This paper compares the structure of three models for estimating future growth in a time series. It is shown that a regression model gives minimum weight to the last observed growth and maximum weight to the observed growth in the middle of the sample ...

Agglomeration externalities and 1981-2006 regional growth in Brazil [PDF]
This paper focuses on manufacturing employment growth across the 26 states of Brazil. We employ the Glaeser et al. (1992) approach to identify the role played by knowledge externalities in growth and convergence.

Understanding the growth of quasicrystals poses a challenging problem, not the least because the quasiperiodic order present in idealized mathematical models of quasicrystals prohibit simple local growth algorithms. This can only be circumvented by allowing for some degree of disorder, which of course is always present in real quasicrystalline samples.
