Growth Kinetics of Nanoclusters in Solution

We study the growth kinetics of nanoclusters in solution. There are two generic factors that drive growth: (a) reactions that produce the nanomaterial; and (b) diffusion of the nanomaterial due to chemical-potential gradients. We model the growth kinetics of ZnO nanoparticles via coupled dynamical equations for the relevant order parameters.

On the solution growth of single crystals of solid solutions

Abstract Homogeneous solid solution crystals are needed for studying the behaviour of systems with a glass state or incommensurate phases. A simple solution growth procedure is described. It is based on a temperature difference growth method with thermally enforced convection and the use of equilibrated solid and liquid solutions.

On the solution of solute diffusion during eutectic growth

Abstract An exact solution of solute diffusion for the stoichiometric-compound/stoichiometric-compound eutectic is derived for a planar interface. Compared with the previous work, the solution is consistent with the kinetics of triple-junction, i.e. the eutectic composition is necessarily found at the triple-junction.
