Growth Pattern Study of Slender Walking Catfish (Clarias nieuhofii) as Environmental Biology Indicator

open access: yesJurnal Mangifera Edu, 2020
Slender walking catfish (Clarias nieuhofii) is a consumption fish that has a fairly high economical value. Local market prices can reach IRD 50.000-70.000/kg. People love this fish because of the delicious taste of the meat, which very different from the

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Exploring the Interfacial Microstructure Evolution and Bonding Properties of Al/Steel Composite Plates Fabricated Through Semi-Solid Cast-Rolling

open access: yesMetals
This study prepared Al/steel composite plates with high shear strength using semi-solid cast-rolling (SSCR). The results indicate that the semi-solid diffusion effectively reduced the diffusion and reaction rate between Al and steel, thereby impeding the

Growth Patterns of Inference

open access: yesCoRR
What properties of a first-order search space support/hinder inference? What kinds of facts would be most effective to learn? Answering these questions is essential for understanding the dynamics of deductive reasoning and creating large-scale knowledge-based learning systems that support efficient inference.

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.
