Growth rate dispersion by initial growth rate distributions and growth rate fluctuations
AIChE Journal, 1987AbstractTwo distinctly different mechanisms that lead to growth rate dispersion have been observed experimentally. One of the mechanisms involves an initial growth rate distribution among nuclei, while the other allows crystal growth rates to fluctuate. The model formulated in the present work includes both phenomena.

This paper proves that maximum growth rate implies zero capital, output and consumption. Growth theory faces the dilemma of zero growth rate or zero output, and is unable to escape the zero trap.

The Optimum Growth Rate for Population
International Economic Review, 1975The theory of optimum population concerned with the stationary plateau of population considers limitations of unaugmentable land and economics of scale and maximizes per capita output and consumption. In the usual version of the growth model the slower the rate of exponential growth the higher the level of steady-state consumption.

Influence of the growth rate calculation on the relationship between growth rate and temperature
Letters in Applied Microbiology, 2000Three calculations of the growth rate (e.g. slope of a plot of the log10 of cfu ml-1 vs time, mum of the Gompertz equation and the reciprocal of time to obtain 108 cfu ml-1) were compared for Escherichia coli TG1 growing in tryptone soy broth medium at temperatures ranging from 14 to 39 degrees C.

Growth rate of incidental meningiomas
Journal of Neurosurgery, 1990✓ A meningioma was incidentally identified with computerized tomography (CT) in 17 patients without relevant clinical signs. The tumor was not removed, but biopsy confirming a meningioma was obtained from one patient. Tumor growth rate was calculated from repeat CT scans or follow-up magnetic resonance imaging.

Homoeothermy and growth rate in the fowl
British Poultry Science, 1973Synopsis Observations on growth rates and diurnal changes in colonic temperatures were made on seven groups of 30 to 50 White Plymouth Rock x Cornish chicks aged between 6 and 8 weeks. Ambient air temperature ranged from 22 °C to 35 °C. Colonic temperatures in the morning (08.00 to 09.00 h) and growth rates were within the normal range.

Determinants of discount rates, capitalisation rates and growth rates
Journal of Property Investment & FinancePurposeThis paper analyses the determinants of key inputs for the explicit discounted cash flow (DCF) or the implicit capitalisation models, namely the discount rates and the capitalisation rates. We also study the factors affecting the implied growth rate of the net operating income (NOI).Design/methodology/approachWe make use of a rich database for ...
