Identification of Ecological Corridors for Semi‐Aquatic Vertebrates: A Case of the Eurasian Otter in Northeast China

Intestinal undifferentiated carcinoma in a red-crowned crane (Grus japonensis).

A 33-year-old red-crowned crane (Grus japonensis) had a diffuse intestinal thickening from the duodenum to colon. Microscopically, neoplastic cells were arranged in sheets and occasionally nests or cords without gland or squamous differentiation. Metastatic tumor cells were found in the lungs, heart, kidneys and adrenal glands.

一例丹顶鹤幼鹤血液原虫致死病例报告

依据临床病理变化、系统病理学观察、实验室检测及病原菌分离培养等技术对大连某动物园1只死亡丹顶鹤(Grus japonensis)幼鹤进行诊断。组织病理学观察结果显示:心肌、肺、肝和脾组织大面积坏死,坏死区域及周边散在分布大量寄生于细胞内的蓝染的、直径6~14 μm、呈圆形、椭圆形或香蕉状的虫体,肾间质及肠黏膜固有层亦可观察到大量虫体,诊断该病例为感染血液原虫(Leucocytozoon sp.)致死,研究结果可为今后相关野生动物疾病诊断及防控提供参考。
