An evolution of GSM

Proceedings of IEEE Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC), 2002
The third generation systems (e.g. FPLMTS) aim at fulfilling high requirements on flexibility, capacity, quality, coverage and cost. Long before the introduction of the third generation systems their need will be challenged by evolution of the existing cellular systems.

GSM and Quality of Life Measures

Clinical Obstetrics & Gynecology, 2023
The impact of bothersome vulvovaginal symptoms related to hypoestrogenism on quality of life (QOL) has been evaluated in large international surveys and qualitative studies of vulvovaginal atrophy, most of which were completed before the introduction of the term genitourinary syndrome of menopause (GSM) and focus primarily on vulvovaginal atrophy.

Verkehrstelematik in GSM

1995

Design of a GSM vocoder

Tutorial Guide. ISCAS 2001. IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems (Cat. No.01TH8573), 2001
Describes a UCI - Motorola joint project demonstrating SpecC methodology. Evaluates benefits of enhanced full-rate (EFR) vocoder with GSM standard for mobile telephony (GSM 06.10) and lossy voice encoding/decoding: stream of speech samples at 104 kbit/s; encoded bit stream at 12.2 kbit/s.

BOOLEAN GRAMMARS AND GSM MAPPINGS

International Journal of Foundations of Computer Science, 2010
It is proved that the language family generated by Boolean grammars is effectively closed under injective gsm mappings and inverse gsm mappings (where gsm stands for a generalized sequential machine). The same results hold for conjunctive grammars, unambiguous Boolean grammars and unambiguous conjunctive grammars.

The evolution of GSM

1994
GSM is now a fully evolutive systems, a platform which can accept improvements, new features, or modifications needed to adapt it to something which was not foreseen from the start. This is important for companies operating a GSM network, which can expect that there investment will be a sufficiently long-term one, but also to conquer new markets.

GSM evolution to an IN platform: Offering GSM mobility as an IN service

1994
An architecture based on the integration of IN and GSM was presented as a possible path for the evolution of GSM to UMTS. From the standards point of view what is need is the absorption of MAP into INAP, resulting in a unified protocol. With a unified protocol the architecture presented here becomes viable.

Measurement of GSM phone emission

Proceedings of the 21st IEEE Instrumentation and Measurement Technology Conference (IEEE Cat. No.04CH37510), 2004
GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) phones are part of everyday life. Their emission level is an EMC (Electro-Magnetic Compatibility) issue. It is important to know the peak signal levels of the mobile phones. They can cause interference with other electronic devices.

Study of GSM system performance by a GSM network computer simulator

1992 IEEE International Conference on Selected Topics in Wireless Communications, 2003
A simulator (GSMSIM) of the digital cellular radiotelephone network, GSM, is described. The simulator is used as a tool for network design. The GSMSIM supplies: the load of the cells, the frequency and length of the calls in the cells, the number and place of the handovers and their reasons, and also power control parameters.

Slotted PIFA for GSM band

2nd European Conference on Antennas and Propagation (EuCAP 2007), 2007
Slotted PIFA with capacitive loading for operation in the GSM band is presented. The PIFA is placed on a ground plane with dimensions of an average handheld device. The antenna is optimized by using electromagnetic simulator and a prototype is manufactured. Calculated and measured results agree very well.
