The Gaussian streaming model and Lagrangian effective field theory

open access: yes, 2016
We update the ingredients of the Gaussian streaming model (GSM) for the redshift-space clustering of biased tracers using the techniques of Lagrangian perturbation theory, effective field theory (EFT) and a generalized Lagrangian bias expansion.

Discovery of an Adaptive Neuroimmune Response Driving Itch and Fast Tick Removal with Implications for Preventing Pathogen Transmission

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Doehl et al. discovered an adaptive neuroimmune mechanism that induces itch in tick‐exposed guinea pigs, enabling rapid tick removal. This itch‐induced tick removal (IITR) is mediated by an adaptive cellular immune response and is independent of IgG, IgE, or TRPV1.

Upscaling Sodium‐Ion Battery Cells: From Aqueous Processing to Performance Assessment of Hard Carbon|Prussian White Pouch Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates the feasibility of scaling up Prussian White (PW)‐based cathode manufacturing at a pilot scale. Through careful PW dehydration combined with optimized aqueous processing, we report the stepwise development of industrially relevant 1 Ah pouch cells and evaluate their performance under various conditions.

Toward More Autonomous Soft Robots: Development and Characterization of a 3D‐Printed Pneumatic Contact Sensor for a Six‐Legged Soft Robotic Walker

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
This article introduces a fully 3D‐printed, electronics‐free sensory system for a six‐legged soft robot, enabling adaptive responses such as obstacle detection and directional changes using pneumatic logic gates. The design demonstrates efficient, robust operation through rapid sensor feedback and autonomous functionality, highlighting new ...

Continuum Coupling and Single-Nucleon Overlap Integrals

open access: yes, 2007
The presence of a particle continuum, both of a resonant and non-resonant character, can significantly impact spectroscopic properties of weakly bound nuclei and excited nuclear states close to, and above, the particle emission threshold.

Predicted predissociation linewidths in the Schumann-Runge bands of O2 compared with recent high resolution measurements [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
The fine-structure predissociation linewidths for the Schumann-Runge bands were evaluated by the model of Julienne and krauss. The parameters were adjusted and modified to account for the fine-structure data for rotational states of vibrational levels v ...

A Lightweight Skin‐Adhesive Fiber Bragg Grating Sensor to Advance Minimally Invasive Healthcare Monitoring

open access: yesAdvanced NanoBiomed Research, EarlyView.
A novel self‐adhesive hydrogel matrix is engineered to embed a fiber Bragg grating sensor for real‐time monitoring of physiological strain signals. The developed system conforms to the skin without external supports and, thanks to the fiber–matrix mechanical coupling, captures both subtle and large‐scale deformations.

Threshold Effects in Multi-channel Coupling and Spectroscopic Factors in Exotic Nuclei [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
In the threshold region, the cross section and the associated overlap integral obey the Wigner threshold law that results in the Wigner-cusp phenomenon. Due to flux conservation, a cusp anomaly in one channel manifests itself in other open channels, even
