On-line analysis of the GSR

The Pavlovian Journal of Biological Science, 1982
The study reports the use of lambda, a measure of sequential dependency developed by Lathrop (1964) in connection with electrodermal activity. Thirteen female subjects, ranging in age from 19 to 53, participated in a simple repeat-stimulus habituation experiment: GSR data in percent-change and lambda were compared.

Delayed CR in Classical GSR Conditioning

Psychological Reports, 1971
2 conditioning groups received 3 trials with either a .5-sec. or a 20-sec. ISI, and then 40 trials with a 20-sec. ISI. 2 pseudoconditioning groups received the same number of CSs and UCSs in an unpaired order but differed according to whether CS duration on the first 3 trials was .6 sec. or 20.1 sec.

Eyelid conditioning and concomitant GSR activity

Behaviour Research and Therapy, 1963
Abstract The purpose of these experiments was to investigate an aspect of autonomic activity (namely, skin resistance) during the course of eyelid conditioning, as a check on those theories which postulate that ‘arousal’ or ‘emotionality’, as measured by autonomic activity, is related to the level of conditioning.

GSR Responses to Fear-Related Stimuli

Perceptual and Motor Skills, 1967
GSR responses to a set of tachistoscopically presented color slides were compared for 10 Ss who reported intense fear of spiders and 10 Ss admitting no unreasonable fears. Employing the index, ratio of response to spider-pictures over response to neutral stimuli (landscapes), perfect discrimination between the 2 groups of Ss was obtained.

Eye gaze and the GSR

Journal of Experimental Social Psychology, 1971
An experimental situation was designed to investigate the differential effects of eye contact and unreciprocated gaze upon GSR activity. Twenty male and twenty female subjects gazed continuously at the eyes of a confederate, who either returned the gaze or looked at a spot on a wall 30° to the right of the subject's head, according to a prearranged ...

Operant conditioning of GSR amplitude.

Journal of Experimental Psychology, 1968
Abstract : An experimental group of 40 Ss was given a 5 cent-connected light as positive reinforcement contingent on their GSR amplitude following a lever press. A corresponding group of 40 control Ss had their reinforcement schedules yoked to that of their experimental partners.

Hearing in Mice via GSR Audiometry

Journal of Speech and Hearing Research, 1963
Hearing in mice has been difficult to measure behaviorally. With GSR as the basic tool, the sensitivity curve to pure tones in mice has been successfully outlined. The most sensitive frequency-intensity combination was 15 000 cps at 0-5 dB re: 0.0002 dyne/cm 2 , with responses noted from 1 000 to beyond 70 000 cps ...

Differential GSR Conditioning with Mixed UCSs

Psychological Reports, 1965
Instead of a single UCS, three UCSs (an electric shock, a flash of light, and a loud tone) were used in a differential GSR conditioning study. Conditioning was successfully established by pairing the CS+ with a different UCS on each conditioning trial.
