Incorporating Unemployment into the GTAP Model

This paper documents the development of a labor module that incorporates job-search frictions, to introduce unemployment into the standard GTAP model. In this approach, unemployed individuals must search for a job opening and firms that want to hire must search for a worker to fill the job.

A New Regional Household Demand System for GTAP

The GTAP final demand system has some known defects: the computation of the equivalent variation is not exact; with non-standard demand parameters, the equivalent variation may be grossly in error; the decomposition of the equivalent variation contains a nuisance term. We find a further defect, that the upper-level demand equations are invalid.

This paper aims at investigating the sectoral impacts from exogenous shocks using CGE model through GTAP model which is implemented by GEMPACK. Three shocks include population growth in NAFTA region, Industrial Growth in Thailand, and Income Growth (measured by GDP) in NAFTA region.
