Abstract A notable advantage of the GTAW process with the use of a hot wire is the higher deposition rate, which can be twice as high as that achieved with a cold wire for the same welding current. In the conventional procedure, the wire is heated through the passage of current to create heat by the Joule Effect.

Droplet transfer in arcing-wire GTAW
Journal of Manufacturing Processes, 2016Abstract In arcing-wire GTAW process, the wire melting speed and weld penetration are decoupled. To well study the arcing-wire GTAW, especially the droplet transfer mode, the forces imposed on the droplet are analyzed firstly and compared with those in conventional GMAW. Then the experiments have been carefully designed and conducted.

Importance of shielding and mechanical characterization of GTAW on Ti-6AL-4V alloy sheet
Welding International, 2023Welding and joining Titanium and its alloys are always challenging because getting a contamination-free joint is difficult with arc welding. For this concern, an attempt was made with and without shielding arrangements using the Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (
