High‐Throughput Metal 3D Printing Pen Enabled by a Continuous Molten Droplet Transfer
The arc plasma‐based M3DPen is capable of additively manufacturing line‐shaped metal structures by controlling the volume of molten droplets. Controlling the droplet volume and the solidification volume of the molten metal allows the surface tension to prevent the molten metal from flowing down due to gravity.

Remanufacturing the AA5052 GTAW Welds Using Friction Stir Processing [PDF]
Progress in sustainable manufacturing is a crucial element to minimise negative environmental impacts. The conventional fusion weld process used to join aluminium alloys resulted in coarse grain structure, inevitable defects, and severe joint softening.

Microstructural Evolution in Nonvacuum Solid‐State Diffusion Bonded Joints of AA2219
Solid‐state diffusion bonding of AA2219 alloy is carried out under the nonvacuum condition to form AA2219/AA2219 joints. In the currently adopted method, AA2219 alloys are joined under the bonding temperature of 450–500°C, bonding pressure of 10 MPa, and bonding time of 30 min.

Investigation of Magnesium and Chromium Fillers FSW Dissimilar Joint of AA6063 and AA 5154
Friction stir welding (FSW) is a solid‐state metal joining process. There is no melting and recasting of metal while welding is used. Some of the defects commonly encountered in FSW are tunnel defect, bond, cracks, pin holes, and pipping defects. The defects occur because of improper metal mixing and less heat input in the weld nugget zone.

Arc characteristics and weld appearance in pulsed ultrasonic assisted GTAW process
A new welding process was named as pulsed ultrasonic assisted GTAW (PU-GTAW). In low-frequency of 1–20 Hz, the arc shape went through from expansion to contraction and re-expansion with the change of pulsed frequency, which was defined as pulsed arc ...

Arc pressure and weld metal fluid flow whilst using alternating shielding gases Part 2 : arc force determination [PDF]
The transient variation of the shielding gas present in the alternating shielding gas process produces a dynamic action within the liquid weld metal. Flow vectors opposite in direction have been reported due to the various forces acting on the weld metal

Welding is a suitable and better process to manufacture complex objects for aerospace, naval, and automotive structures. Service conditions and complexity in load acting force the manufactures to make joints between dissimilar materials. Thus, there is a need for efficient welding techniques to form sound joints and an understanding of imperfections ...
