FEA Simulation of Clinching Process Based on GTN Damage Model

Advanced Materials Research, 2013
In this work, the Gurson-Tvergaard-Needleman (GTN) damage model is adopted to depict the material damage during the clinch joining process in a simulation-based theoretical model. The parameters of the GTN model which influence the void nucleation, growth and coalescence are identified.

Numerical and experimental determination of the forming limit curves of AA6061 using the modified GTN damage model

Proceedings of the Institution of mechanical engineers. Part E, journal of process mechanical engineering
The current research presents an experimental and numerical investigation of the forming limit of ECARed (Equal Channel Angular Rolling) 6061 aluminum alloy using a modified Gurson–Tvergaard–Needleman (GTN) failure model.

Implementation of a Shear Modified GTN Damage Model and its Application in Cold Rolling

Advanced Materials Research, 2013
To characterize the degradation of material at low triaxiality, the shear modified GTN damage model proposed by Nahshon and Hutchinson (2008) was introduced in this study. The details of the numericalimplementation and validation of the model was conducted.

A Mesh Independent GTN Damage Model and Its Application in Simulation of Ductile Fracture Behaviour

Volume 3: Design and Analysis, 2008
Ductile fracture process involves the typical stages of nucleation, growth and coalescence of voids in the micro-scale. In order to take the effects of these voids on the stress carrying capability of a mechanical continuum during simulation, damage mechanics models, such as those of Rousselier and Gurson-Tvergaard-Needleman (GTN) are widely used ...

Analysis of rolled edge cracking of ZK60 magnesium alloy based on shear modified GTN damage model

Engineering Research Express
Edge cracking is a common defect during the hot rolling of magnesium alloy sheets, primarily due to the limited ductility associated with their hexagonal close-packed (HCP) structure.
