Exploring the Discrepancies in the Biological Activities of Extracts From Guadua angustifolia Var. Bicolor Londoño Collected in Two Different Sites. [PDF]
ABSTRACT Guadua angustifolia var. bicolor Lodoño is a Colombian bamboo species that has shown promising medicinal properties. This study aims to investigate the differences in the chemical composition and biological activity of extracts from two different populations of G. angustifolia var. bicolor, collected in Bauru and Tatuí, Brazil.

How does biochar impact soil water storage? After adding biochar to an upland rice field in Costa Rica, we observed a shift in the soil water retention curves, indicating that rice plants had 2%–7% more water available. The isotopic composition of plant water did not vary with biochar, indicating rice plants likely consumed similar water.

Climbing bean breeding for disease resistance and grain quality traits
Abstract Common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris) is grown in two growth types, bush and climbing beans. The latter are preferred in several regions in East and Southern African as well as in Latin America (dominant in Rwanda and Colombia), due to higher yields and resilience compared with bush type.
