Polychromophilus spp. (Haemosporida: Plasmodiidae): First Molecular Detection in Bat Flies From Brazilian Bats. [PDF]
Integr ZoolThis study identifies Polychromophilus sp. in blood‐feeding flies (Basilia speiseri and Basilia lindolphoi) from Myotis nigricans bats in Brazil, marking the first molecular detection of the parasite in an insect vector in this country. Two haplotypes were identified, both within the Polychromophilus murinus group.
