Skin and stinger bacterial communities in two critically endangered rays from the South Atlantic in natural and aquarium settings. [PDF]
This article focused on the bacterial communities in two poorly studied and endangered ray species from the southern Atlantic: the butterfly ray (Gymnura altavela) and the groovebelly ray (Dasyatis hypostigma). This is the first study to describe the bacterial community associated with these species in natural environments and aquariums.

Abstract Elevated concentrations of total mercury (THg) are found in the surface soils and flanking wetland sediments at the Classic Maya coastal site of Marco Gonzalez, Belize. Significant concentrations (up to 1.3 µg·g−1 dry mass) of THg occur in leaf litter‐rich soils, as well as in the artefact‐rich anthrosol spread over the vegetated mound site of

Abstract We evaluated the contribution of net biological effects (photosynthesis + respiration + decomposition) to the carbonate parameters and air–water CO2 fluxes in Tokyo Bay, Ise Bay, and Osaka Bay in Japan. The carbonate parameters (fugacity of CO2, total alkalinity, and dissolved inorganic carbon) were measured mainly by cargo ships traveling ...
