Guaranteed Diversity and Optimality in Cost Function Network Based Computational Protein Design Methods

open access: yesAlgorithms, 2021
Proteins are the main active molecules of life. Although natural proteins play many roles, as enzymes or antibodies for example, there is a need to go beyond the repertoire of natural proteins to produce engineered proteins that precisely meet ...

Minimizing the network availability upgrade cost with geodiversity guarantees [PDF]

open access: yes2017 9th International Workshop on Resilient Networks Design and Modeling (RNDM), 2017
As telecommunication networks are a critical infrastructure of our society, they must evolve to provide high end-to-end availability and high resilience to large-scale disasters. Path protection mechanisms can improve end-to-end availability but, in general, might not be enough to reach the availability required by critical services.

A Simplified Laminar Flow Model for the Pultrusion of Glass Fiber/Polyethylene Terephthalate Commingled Yarns

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A simplified thermoplastic pultrusion model is developed to predict thermal fields in glass fiber/polyethylene terephthalate (GF/PET) composites with reduced computational cost. By combining effective material homogenization, validation against literature data, and Gaussian‐process‐based optimization, the study reveals how heating limits, pulling speed,

Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.

Nonfragile observer-based guaranteed cost finite-time control of discrete-time positive impulsive switched systems

open access: yesOpen Mathematics, 2019
This paper considers the nonfragile observer-based guaranteed cost finite-time control of discrete-time positive impulsive switched systems(DPISS). Firstly, the positive observer and nonfragile positive observer are designed to estimate the actual state ...

Ontology‐Aligned Structuring and Reuse of Multimodal Materials Data and Workflows Toward Automatic Reproduction

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Reproduction of stacking fault energy calculations from literature with a semi‐automated large language model‐assisted extraction procedure: extraction of simulation protocol, atomistic structures, computational parameters, and reported results, ontology alignment, knowledge graph construction and, finally, recomputation forvalidation.

Delay-Dependent Guaranteed Cost Controller Design for Uncertain Neural Networks with Interval Time-Varying Delay

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2012
This paper studies the problem of guaranteed cost control for a class of uncertain delayed neural networks. The time delay is a continuous function belonging to a given interval but not necessary to be differentiable.
