Genome‐Wide Association Mapping of Leaf Rust Response in a Durum Wheat Worldwide Germplasm Collection

open access: yesThe Plant Genome, Volume 9, Issue 3, November 2016., 2016
Leaf rust (caused by Puccinia triticina Erikss. [Pt]) is increasingly impacting durum wheat (Triticum turgidum L. var. durum) production with the recent appearance of races with virulence to widely grown cultivars in many durum producing areas worldwide. A highly virulent P. triticina race on durum wheat was recently detected in Kansas.

Broad Protein Spectrum in Stored Pollen of Three Stingless Bees from the Chaco Dry Forest in South America (Hymenoptera, Apidae, Meliponini) and Its Ecological Implications

open access: yesPsyche: A Journal of Entomology, Volume 2015, Issue 1, 2015., 2015
Protein content of pollen stored by three meliponine species was variable from 9.78% (less than half the value considered as optimal to brood development in Apis mellifera) in type Capparis tweediana‐C. speciosa to more than 26% in type Maytenus vitis-idaea and some Prosopis samples.

Estimating the Potential Production of the Brown Mussel Perna perna (Linnaeus, 1758) Reared in Three Tropical Bays by Different Methods of Condition Indices

open access: yesJournal of Marine Sciences, Volume 2015, Issue 1, 2015., 2015
Perna perna (Linnaeus, 1758) is the main marine bivalve mussel yielded commercially in Brazil. In spite of this, scientific data is very scarce regarding its productivity in tropical shallow waters. The Condition Index (CI) is used worldwide in mariculture to assess animal health, harvest time, and yield. In this study, the authors used CI results from

Role of Thermal Environment in Habitat Selection by Male White‐Tailed Deer during Summer in Texas, USA

open access: yesWildlife Biology, Volume 20, Issue 1, Page 47-56, March 2014., 2014
Thermal cover may influence habitat selection by white‐tailed deer Odocoileus virginianus in subtropical climates with hot summers. We 1) tested the hypothesis that thermal environment is more important in habitat selection at midday during summer than forage quality or quantity and concealment cover and 2) determined whether operative temperature ...

Data‐Driven Tools to Evaluate Support Pressure, Radial Displacements, and Face Extrusion for Tunnels Excavated in Elastoplastic Grounds

open access: yesInternational Journal for Numerical and Analytical Methods in Geomechanics, Volume 49, Issue 2, Page 654-664, 10 February 2025.
ABSTRACT Two‐dimensional analysis of tunnel design based on the convergence–confinement method, although commonly used in tunnel design, may not always be applied. For example, in squeezing grounds, if the support is installed very close to the tunnel face, three‐dimensional numerical modeling is required but is computationally expensive. Therefore, it
