Guayule resin: An innovative bioresource for asphalt cement replacement
Abstract Novel resources can contribute to replacing asphalt with sustainable, flexible pavement options. In this study, asphalt was replaced by guayule resin as a bioresource by-product extracted during guayule natural rubber production. Crumb rubber modifier (CRM) was used as an asphalt enhancer.

Component Analysis of Bio-Asphalt Binder Using Crumb Rubber Modifier and Guayule Resin as an Innovative Asphalt Replacer [PDF]
This research seeks to interpret the component analysis of an innovative bio-asphalt binder using guayule resin in addition to crumb rubber modifier (CRM) at high concentrations. Such asphalt modification aims to minimize the dependency on virgin asphalt

Performance Assessment of Bioasphalt Mixtures Containing Guayule Resin as an Innovative Biobased Asphalt Alternative [PDF]
Guayule resin was investigated through mixture to assess its role in the field performance. For performance comparisons, conventional asphalt, neat guayule, asphalt-rubber-guayule, and guayule-rubber binders were implied.

Future trends for the analysis of guayulins in guayule (Parthenium argentatum Gray) resins
Guayule (Parthenium argentatum Gray) is a promising alternative and renewable source of natural rubber/latex. There is a general acceptance that to successfully industrialize the cultivation of guayule, it will be necessary to valorize all of its co-products, including resins, which can reach 16 % of weight of dry matter.

Variability in Rubber and Resin Content Within and Among Eight Guayule Cultivars [PDF]
Abstract Mean rubber concentration of 3-year-old guayule (Parthenium argentatum Gray) ranged from 7.37% to 9.72% among 8 cultivars. Resin concentration ranged from 4.48% to 6.69%. All cultivars were homogeneous for rubber and resin concentration, except N565. Rubber concentration was highly correlated with resin concentration.
