Distribution of Rubber and Resins in Guayule [PDF]
Rubber contents are so frequently the focus of attention in investigations of guayule (Parthenium argent at urn Gray) that an account of rubber distribution in the plant may contribute to experimental studies as well as to purely descriptive literature concerning the plant.

Influence of Guayule Resin as a Bio-Based Additive on Asphalt–Rubber Binder at Elevated Temperatures
This study seeks to find the influence of replacing a portion of the asphalt−rubber binder with the bio-based material “guayule resin.” This replacement could be beneficial in terms of sustainability, economics, and environmental ...

Guayule resin: An innovative bioresource for asphalt cement replacement
Abstract Novel resources can contribute to replacing asphalt with sustainable, flexible pavement options. In this study, asphalt was replaced by guayule resin as a bioresource by-product extracted during guayule natural rubber production. Crumb rubber modifier (CRM) was used as an asphalt enhancer.

Future trends for the analysis of guayulins in guayule (Parthenium argentatum Gray) resins
Guayule (Parthenium argentatum Gray) is a promising alternative and renewable source of natural rubber/latex. There is a general acceptance that to successfully industrialize the cultivation of guayule, it will be necessary to valorize all of its co-products, including resins, which can reach 16 % of weight of dry matter.

Summary Natural rubber (NR) is a nonfungible and valuable biopolymer, used to manufacture ~50 000 rubber products, including tires and medical gloves. Current production of NR is derived entirely from the para rubber tree (Hevea brasiliensis). The increasing demand for NR, coupled with limitations and vulnerability of H. brasiliensis production systems,

Seeds of Success: Collateral Benefits to Agricultural Crop Improvement, Research, and Education
ABSTRACT The need to restore natural landscapes impacted by environmental perturbations such as wildfires, and droughts, gave rise to Seeds of Success (SOS), a collaborative effort led by the Bureau of Land Management to collect seed of US wild native species since 2001.

Determination of the Mechanical Properties of Rubber by FT‐NIR
Mechanical tests, for example, tensile and hardness tests, are usually used to evaluate the properties of rubber materials. In this work, mechanical properties of selected rubber materials, that is, natural rubber (NR), styrene butadiene rubber (SBR), nitrile butadiene rubber (NBR), and ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM), were evaluated using a ...
