Turbulence‐Intensity Effects on the Aerodynamic Performance of an H‐Type Darrieus Wind Turbine: A URANS Parametric Study

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
Turbulence intensity from 1% to 25% was parametrically tested on a three‐bladed H‐type Darrieus rotor across five tip speed ratios (TSRs) using two‐dimensional URANS. The optimal TSR proved the most efficient and most robust operating point simultaneously, with Cp losses capped at 5.8% even at TI = 25%. ABSTRACT The effect of inlet turbulence intensity

Spacing Effects in Guided Vertical‐Axis Wind Turbine Arrays for Highway Energy Harvesting Under Multi‐Vehicle Wake Conditions

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
Three‐turbine guided Savonius arrays installed along highway corridors extract up to 697 J under multi‐vehicle wake conditions when spaced 12 rotor diameters apart—68% more than compact arrangements. Guide vanes boost output by 80–120%, and interior turbines respond most strongly to spacing, governing overall array performance. ABSTRACT Highway‐induced

Study on sediment erosion of pump turbine guide vane head with V-shaped structure [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Fluid Engineering
During pump turbine operation, sediment particles typically erode and damage the surface of the guide vanes. In this study, Euler–Lagrange numerical calculations and sediment erosion tests are employed to comprehensively analyze the wear characteristics ...

Intrafraction motion and impact of margin reduction for MR‐Linac online adaptive radiotherapy for pancreatic cancer treatments

open access: yesJournal of Medical Radiation Sciences, Volume 72, Issue 1, Page 17-24, March 2025.
This analysis included quantification of intrafraction motion in pancreas stereotactic ablative radiotherapy treated on the MR‐Linac, leading to the development of adjusted (PTV) margins. Intrafraction motion indicated an average target displacement of 1–3 mm, resulting in an adjusted PTV margin of 2 mm in the right–left and superior–inferior ...

Cononsolvency‐Assisted Fabrication of Hydrogels and Microgels With Tunable Porosity, Diffusivity and Stiffness

open access: yesMacromolecular Rapid Communications, EarlyView.
The cononsolvency of poly(dimethyl acrylamide‐co‐hydroxyethyl acrylamide) copolymers in water‐acetonitrile mixtures enables the synthesis of hydrogels with finely tuned porosity. Optimized for droplet‐based microfluidics, this approach facilitates the fabrication of porous microgels with tunable mechanical and diffusion properties, offering precise ...

Behavior of Injection‐Molded Nylon 6 Composites With Virgin and Field‐Exposed Waste‐Recycled Blends

open access: yesPolymer Composites, EarlyView.
Recycling field‐exposed Nylon 6 composites for sustainable secondary applications. ABSTRACT Every year, more than 18,600 metric tonnes of glass fiber‐reinforced Nylon 6 composite waste from sucker rod guides used in downhole oil and gas applications are landfilled due to uncertainty about retained performance after prolonged service exposure.
