The impact of hBN layers on guided exciton–polariton modes in WS2 multilayers
Guided exciton–polariton modes naturally exist in bare transition metal dichalcogenide (TMDC) layers due to self-hybridization between excitons and photons.

Lateral Modes in Quantum Cascade Lasers
We will examine the waveguide mode losses in ridge-guided quantum cascade lasers. Our analysis illustrates how the low-loss mode for broad-ridge quantum cascade lasers (QCLs) can be a higher-order lateral waveguide mode that maximizes the feedback from ...

Spatiotemporal coupled-mode theory of guided-mode resonant gratings
In this paper, we develop spatiotemporal coupled-mode theory to describe optical properties of guided-mode resonant gratings. We derive partial differential equations that describe both spatial and temporal evolution of the field inside the grating. These equations describe the coupling of two counter-propagating grating modes, revealing the structure ...

Impact of Metastatic Patterns on Survival and Response to Therapy in Neuroblastoma
ABSTRACT Background While the presence of metastases in neuroblastoma (NB) is a well‐established prognostic factor, the clinical significance of dissemination patterns and tumour burden and their impact on response and survival remains poorly understood.

Efficiency enhancement of OLED by extracting guided modes
The effects of the structural parameters of the photonic crystal (PC) placed between glass and indium tin oxide (ITC) for an efficient organic light-emitting diode (OLED) design is studied. It is shown that the light extraction efficiency of OLEDs varies with the PC height and period.
