Pancreatic adenocarcinoma in guinea fowl

Pancreatic adenocarcinoma is a rare neoplasm of poultry. This condition is hereby described in an adult male guinea fowl that died suddenly in a flock of apparently healthy birds. Necropsy showed severe ascites and nodular tissue growths on the serous membranes of some internal organs and in the parenchyma of the pancreas only.

A case of capillariasis was diagnosed in a 5-yr-old male vulture guinea fowl (Acryllium vulturinum) with clinical signs of weakness, anorexia, and vomition. Necropsy revealed that the bird was severely emaciated and the liver was congested. The entire mucosa of the crop and esophagus was severely thickened as a result of the presence of fibrinonecrotic

Novel monoclonal antibodies recognise guinea fowl thrombocytes

This paper introduces two novel monoclonal antibodies, designated GTr1 and GTr2, which recognise guinea fowl thrombocyte surface antigen(s). The antibodies were tested in embryos and adult birds. GTr1 and GTr2 staining emerged at embryonic days 12 and 7, respectively.
