Scientific Opinion on the safety and efficacy of Coxiril® (diclazuril) as a feed additive for guinea fowl [PDF]

open access: yesEFSA Journal, 2014
Coxiril®, containing 0.5 % diclazuril, is intended for use in the control of coccidiosis in guinea fowl at concentrations between 0.8 and 1.2 mg diclazuril/kg complete feed. Since diclazuril from Coxiril® is considered safe for turkeys for fattening with

Humans, geometric similarity and the Froude number: is ''reasonably close'' really close enough? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Summary Understanding locomotor energetics is imperative, because energy expended during locomotion, a requisite feature of primate subsistence, is lost to reproduction.

Adenovirus‐associated haemorrhagic disease in guinea fowl [PDF]

open access: yesAvian Pathology, 1995
Nine outbreaks of a disease affecting 2 to 5-month-old guinea fowl, characterized by slight depression and sudden deaths, are described. Gross haemorrhages in the serosa and muscles were constantly observed. Histologically nuclear inclusion bodies, similar to those observed in avian adenovirosis group II were detected in the spleen of affected animals.

Chicken and Quail Microsatellite Markers Reveal Polymorphisms in Guinea Fowl

open access: yesThe Journal of Poultry Science, 2008
Microsatellite markers are tandem repeats of short nucleotides which are abundant, evenly distributed and highly polymorphic in eukaryotic genomes. As such, they are a useful tool in poultry breeding.

EVALUATION OF GENETIC SIMILARITY BETWEEN WHITE AND GREY VARIETIES OF GUINEA FOWL (NUMIDA MELEAGRIS) [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Central European Agriculture, 2012
The aim of the study was to determine DNA polymorphism between and within white and grey varieties of guinea fowl. At the end of 12 weeks of age, blood was sampled from 13 white and 16 grey guinea fowl, and DNA was isolated.

Protein Quality Evaluation of Some Commonly Consumed Bird Egg Varieties Using Amino Acid Scores

open access: yesBiochemistry Research International, 2022
Objective. Food proteins provide amino acids (AAs) and serve as building blocks of all vital organs, muscles, hormones, and biological fluids such as blood. Eggs are known as a good source of protein. This study compared the protein quality of bird eggs (
