Effects of Equilibrium and Non‐Equilibrium Adsorption States on the Photoreduction and Isotope Fractionation of Hg(II) in Urban Aerosols

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Atmospheres, Volume 131, Issue 6, 28 March 2026.
Abstract Mercury (Hg) photoreduction on urban aerosols plays a critical role in atmospheric Hg cycling, yet the effects of the adsorption state on its kinetics and isotopic fractionation remain poorly constrained. This study investigates Hg(II) photoreduction under equilibrium (EAC) and non‐equilibrium adsorption conditions (NAC) using a flow‐through ...

Reductions in Anthropogenic Aerosol and Greenhouse Gas Drive Divergent Regional Impacts on Wildfire Risks in China Under Carbon Neutrality

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 5, 16 March 2026.
Abstract Understanding the impacts of future emissions reductions on wildfire risk is critical for climate adaptation under carbon neutrality scenarios. Here, this study investigates how reductions in aerosol and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions affect wildfire risk across major fire‐prone regions in China by using the coupled Community Earth System ...

Asymmetric Changes in the Cooling Capacity of China's Lakes

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 5, 16 March 2026.
Abstract Lakes significantly influence local climate, yet a systematic assessment of their cooling effect across diverse regions remains limited. This study develops a multi‐metric (spatial extent, magnitude, and efficiency) framework to evaluate the spatiotemporal patterns of Lake Cooling Capacity (LCC) for 265 major Chinese lakes from 1980 to 2022 ...

Cinnamic‐Hydroxamic‐Acid Derivatives Exhibit Antibiotic, Anti‐Biofilm, and Supercoiling Relaxation Properties by Targeting Bacterial Nucleoid‐Associated Protein HU

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 13, 3 March 2026.
Cinnamic‐hydroxamic‐acid derivatives (CHADs) are identified as novel inhibitors of the bacterial nucleoid‐associated protein HU, exhibiting potent antibacterial, anti‐biofilm (both inhibition and eradication), and DNA relaxation (anti‐supercoiling) activities. Moreover, CHADs demonstrate strong synergistic effects with multiple antibiotics.

CD20+FCRL4+ B Cells Activate CD8+ T Cells via MHC‐I Restriction in Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma Anti‐Tumor Immunity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 13, 3 March 2026.
CD20⁺FCRL4⁺ B cells in nasopharyngeal carcinoma actively cross‐present exogenous tumor antigens via MHC‐I, enhancing CD8⁺ T‐cell activation, memory formation, and cytotoxicity. IFNγ‐driven WDFY4 upregulation facilitates this process. These findings reveal an unconventional B‐cell–mediated antitumor mechanism and indicate potential relevance to ...
