This study explores the application of environmental DNA sampling for chelonid herpesvirus 5 (ChHV5) surveillance in endangered sea turtles around Singapore. We demonstrate the direct detection of ChHV5 from seawater, and the feasibility of sediment‐based ChHV5 detection using a spike‐and‐recovery experiment.

This report explores several of the most commonly stated causes of Somali piracy, as well as the history and structure of Somali piracy, showing that piracy is rather a spatiotemporal and geographically con-strained phenomenon than a general Somali phenomenon, which started after the collapse of Somalia in 1991.
