Biomass‐Derived Stress‐Regulating Additives for Microsilicon Anodes in Lithium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesBatteries &Supercaps, EarlyView.
Herein, biomass‐derived additives are introduced into the microsized silicon anode for the first time, which can alleviate the stress during cycling, promote the formation of LiF‐rich solid–electrolyte interface, reduce cracking, and improve cycle life.

Shark breeding grounds and seasons in the Gulf of California: Fishery management and conservation strategy

open access: yesCiencias Marinas, 2009
Sharks show high biological fragility and, given the intense fishing regimes to which they are exposed in the Gulf of California, it is necessary to establish a conservation and management strategy providing for the protection of their nursery areas. We

Interplay between Lithium Intercalation and Plating during Fast Charging of Lithium‐Ion Batteries Investigated by Operando NMR Spectroscopy

open access: yesBatteries &Supercaps, EarlyView.
Lithium plating is investigated using operando nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy and a three‐electrode design. The onset of plating occurs at a negative potential below −100 mV, while NMR spectra offer insights on the competition between graphite lithiation, plating, and re‐intercalation during charging.

Crustal Accretion in the Gulf of California: An Intermediaterate Spreading Axis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
An important objective of Deep Sea Drilling Project (DSDP) Leg 65 was to study crustal accretion at an ocean ridge axis with an intermediate-spreading rate for comparison with previously studied sections displaying slowand fast-spreading rates.

Effectiveness and safety of interventions for fever‐associated discomfort in children: A systematic review

open access: yesBritish Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Aims Fever is one of the most frequent reasons for paediatric consultations. While traditionally managed by reducing body temperature, recent guidelines emphasize alleviating discomfort as the primary therapeutic goal. Although different interventions have been described to manage fever‐associated discomfort in children, their effectiveness and safety ...

Distribution of the Midwater Fishes of the Gulf of California

open access: yesCopeia, 1972
A series of 203 midwater trawl hauls, most of which were discrete-depth samples, was taken at 126 trawling sites along nearly the entire length of the Gulf of California in 1967, 1968, and 1969. The resulting collection of 10,003 adult fishes has been analyzed as a representation of the community of midwater fishes which resides within the Gulf.
