Study on Hydraulic Fracture Propagation of Strong Heterogeneous Shale Based on Stress‐Seepage Damage Coupling Model

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, Volume 13, Issue 1, Page 309-322, January 2025.
The stress model of rock in the hydraulic fracturing process is developed to study the behavior of hydraulic fracture propagation in strong heterogeneous shale under the coupled action of stress and seepage. In heterogeneous shale reservoirs, strong heterogeneity is the main factor limiting the height propagation of hydraulic fractures.

Performance Optimisation of Low‐Damage Foam Fracturing Fluid System in Unconventional Reservoirs

open access: yesInternational Journal of Chemical Engineering, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
Foam fracturing fluid is a prospective substitute for water‐based fracturing fluid, with the potential to effectively mitigate the adverse effects associated with unconventional reservoirs. However, the greenhouse effect caused by CO2 accumulation and CO2 utilisation represents a significant challenge, limiting the fracturing efficiency of ...

Prediction of lamina structure and reservoir quality in shale using well logs: The Cretaceous Qingshankou Formation, Gulong Sag, Songliao Basin, China [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
Lamina structure is determined by composition, thickness, continuity, and mineral assemblage. Reservoir quality in oil shale reservoirs is determined by lamina structure, which controls hydrocarbon accumulation and migration.
