Dynamically accelerated cover times

open access: yesPhysical Review Research, 2020
Among observables characterizing the random exploration of a graph or lattice, the cover time, namely, the time to visit every site, continues to attract widespread interest.

Non-Gaussianity of resistance fluctuations near electrical breakdown

open access: yes, 2003
We study the resistance fluctuation distribution of a thin film near electrical breakdown. The film is modeled as a stationary resistor networkunder biased percolation.

Extending the hyper‐logistic model to the random setting: New theoretical results with real‐world applications

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, EarlyView.
We develop a full randomization of the classical hyper‐logistic growth model by obtaining closed‐form expressions for relevant quantities of interest, such as the first probability density function of its solution, the time until a given fixed population is reached, and the population at the inflection point.

Analysis of Ferquency Maximum Flood in Mountain basin (Case study : Armand station) [PDF]

open access: yesعلوم و مهندسی آبیاری, 2012
A bivariate extreme value distribution, namely the Gumbel mixed model constructed from Gumbel marginal distributions is employed to analyze the joint distribution of correlated flood peak (probable maximum flood) and amount.

An Exact Method for Reliable Shortest Path Problems With Correlation

open access: yesNetworks, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Shortest path problems often arise in contexts where travel times are uncertain. In these settings, reliable paths are often valued more than paths with lower expected travel times. This has led to several variants of reliable shortest path problems (RSPP) that handle travel time reliability differently. We propose an algorithmic framework for

PEMILIHAN DISTRIBUSI PROBABILITAS PADA ANALISA HUJAN DENGAN METODE GOODNESS OF FIT TEST

open access: yesJurnal Teknik Sipil dan Perencanaan, 2016
Rainfall event is a stochastic process, so to explain and analyze this processes the probability theory and frequency analysisare used. There are four types of probability distributions. They are normal, log normal, log Pearson III and Gumbel. To find the

Archimedean Copula Estimation Parameter with Kendall Distribution Function

open access: yesCumhuriyet Science Journal, 2017
In the literature, up to now, it is common thatfor Gumbel, Clayton and Frank calculated Kendall Distribution function and to the extent those applications havebeen made.

Lomax-Gumbel {Fréchet}: A New Distribution

open access: yesJournal of Advances in Mathematics and Computer Science, 2019
In this paper the T-R{Y} framework is used for proposing a new distribution that called The Lomax-Gumbel{Frechet} distribution. We study in details the properties of this distribution including hazard function, quantile Function, the skewness, the kurtosis, transformation, Renyi entropy, and moment generating function.

An objective Bayesian method for including parameter uncertainty in ensemble model output statistics

open access: yesQuarterly Journal of the Royal Meteorological Society, EarlyView.
Conventional model output statistics and ensemble model output statistics methods for calibrating ensemble forecasts lead to severe underestimation of the probabilities of ensemble extremes (in blue). This is because they ignore statistical parameter uncertainty.

Extreme fluctuations in noisy task-completion landscapes on scale-free networks

open access: yes, 2007
We study the statistics and scaling of extreme fluctuations in noisy task-completion landscapes, such as those emerging in synchronized distributed-computing networks, or generic causally-constrained queuing networks, with scale-free topology.
