Microfacies and Sedimentary Environments of Gurpi and Pabdeh Formations in Southwest of Iran [PDF]

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Applied Sciences, 2009
Problem statement: The Upper Cretaceous Gurpi and lower Tertiary Pabdeh formations as units of folded Zagros Zone were studied in three different regions (Tang-e-Abolhiat, Tang-e-Zanjiran and Maharloo) in Fars Province, Iran. Approach: Gurpi formation consisted of thin to medium sized layers of gray marl and marlstone interbedded with thin layers of ...

Decreasing Coalbed Methane Formation Damage Using Microfoamed Drilling Fluid Stabilized by Silica Nanoparticles

open access: yesJournal of Nanomaterials, Volume 2016, Issue 1, 2016., 2016
Coalbed methane (CBM) reservoirs in China are featured in remarkable nanosized pores below 200 nm, acknowledged natural cleats, and tectonic fractures. This paper discussed the possibility that a clay free microfoamed drilling fluid could be stabilized by silica nanoparticles (CFMDF‐NP) so as to avoid formation damage of CBM drilling.

Investigating Marl Formation and their Dominant Land use and Erosion in Kermanshah Province

open access: yesجغرافیا و پایداری محیط, 2021
Land use/cover change at the geological marl formations, especially the conversion of forest and rangeland areas to rain-fed lands and subsequent improper tillage practice has led to severe soil erosion and sedimentation, soil moisture lost, dust-blown ...

Reappraisal of lithology and depositional environment of carbonate-siliciclastic succession of the Pabdeh Formation in SE Ilam Province, W Iran [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Stratigraphy and Sedimentology Researches, 2018
The Pabdeh Formation (Paleocene–Oligocene) is located in the Zagros foreland basin. This formation was well appreciated as a source rock and somehow a potential reservoir particularly in the Dezful Embayment.
