Delineating groundwater potential recharge zones using remote sensing and GIS through the analytical hierarchy process (AHP) in northern Namibia’s landscapes

open access: yesGeology, Ecology, and Landscapes
Water is a critical resource for human and ecological sustainability, particularly in semi-arid regions such as Namibia, where surface water is limited and evaporation rates are high.

Ecological life cycle analysis (LCA) on the example of materials used in warehouse buildings [PDF]

open access: yesArchives of Civil Engineering
Construction cannot be called as an environment friendly process, hence many solutions are being developed to define the negative interactions of the buildings, determine the extent of environmental impact and find alternatives to improve design ...

Leaftronics: Bio‐Fractal Scaffolds From Leaf Venation for Low‐Waste Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
“Leaftronics” transforms naturally evolved leaf venation into quasi‐fractal scaffolds for sustainable electronics. Polymer‐infiltrated leaf skeletons can be used to fabricate ultra‐smooth, reflow‐ and thin‐film‐compatible decomposable substrates, while making the same lignocellulose networks conducting results in flexible transparent electrodes.

Sustainable Materials Design With Multi‐Modal Artificial Intelligence

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Critical mineral scarcity, high embodied carbon, and persistent pollution from materials processing intensify the need for sustainable materials design. This review frames the problem as multi‐objective optimization under heterogeneous, high‐dimensional evidence and highlights multi‐modal AI as an enabling pathway.

A Global Meta-Analysis on the Impact of Management Practices on Net Global Warming Potential and Greenhouse Gas Intensity from Cropland Soils. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2016
Management practices, such as tillage, crop rotation, and N fertilization, may affect net global warming potential (GWP) and greenhouse gas intensity (GHGI), but their global impact on cropland soils under different soil and climatic conditions need ...

High‐Throughput Screening and Interpretable Machine Learning for Rational Design of Bimetallic Catalysts for Methane Activation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Methane's efficient catalytic removal is vital for sustainable development. Bimetallic catalysts, though promising for methane activation, pose a design challenge due to their complex compositional space. This work introduces an integrated framework that combines high‐throughput density functional theory (DFT) and interpretable machine ...

Electrocatalytic Coupling Conversion of Methane by Dual‐Site Control in Nickel Oxyhydroxide

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Electrocatalytic coupling conversion of methane (CH4) is accomplished on the nickel oxyhydroxide (NiOOH), wherein the Ni─O dual‐site is triggered via the proper electronic interaction, synergistically promoting the C─H activation and C─C formation, enabling a selective and efficient C2 product generation route under ambient conditions. ABSTRACT Methane
