AM CVn Systems as Optical, X-Ray and GWR Sources [PDF]
AbstractWe discuss the model for the Galactic sample of the AM CVn systems with Porb, ≤ 1500 s that can be detected in the optical and/or X-ray bands and may be resolved by the gravitational waves detector LISA. At 3 ≲ P ≲ 10 min all detectable systems are X-ray sources. At P ≳ 10 min most systems are only detectable in the V-band.

ABSTRACT Urban expansion can substantially reshape ecosystem structure and functioning, especially in ecologically fragile Karst landscapes. Clarifying how ecosystem health (EH) responds to urbanization and identifying the factors that drive spatial variation in EH are important for regional sustainability.

ABSTRACT Over the past few decades, the intensification of global warming has brought increased attention to urban thermal dynamics, particularly regarding Land Surface Temperature (LST) and the Urban Surface Heat Island (SUHI) effect. This study conducts a systematic literature review alongside a bibliometric analysis of 123 peer‐reviewed articles ...

Tewdwr: Eponymous Ancestor of the Tudor Dynasty
Abstract The standard derivation of the dynastic name Tudor from Welsh Tudur, surname of the grandfather of Henry VII, is problematic on phonological grounds, as well as the fact that Tudur was never used as a surname by Henry himself, being attributed to him only by his enemies with implication of lowly origins.

A New Algorithm for Large-Scale Geographically Weighted Regression with K-Nearest Neighbors
Geographically weighted regression (GWR) is a classical method for estimating nonstationary relationships. Notwithstanding the great potential of the model for processing geographic data, its large-scale application still faces the challenge of high ...

Word Associations in a Minoritised Language: The Case of Cymraeg (Welsh)
ABSTRACT As with many research strands in linguistics, word association (WA) literature is dominated by English language data. Resource Substitution: Local Governments' Issue Attention and Policy Reinvention
ABSTRACT Research on policy reinvention, where a government modifies rather than replicates policy innovations introduced by other governments, has progressed significantly, but how it is influenced by the government's issue attention has not been thoroughly examined.
