Natural Areas and Reference Collections for Environmental Education in Some Arkansas Schools [PDF]
A survey of 20 school campuses throughout Arkansas showed that most lack natural areas for outdoor environmental education. For most Arkansas schools no checklists of local plants are available, and there are no reference collections at the schools ...

ABSTRACT Photosynthetic light‐harvesting complexes mediate light absorption and energy dissipation. By modulating the photosystems' absorption cross‐section, they affect both photosynthetic activity and non‐photochemical quenching (NPQ). These processes are often studied by spectrally integrated chlorophyll fluorescence, masking their associated ...

This study evaluates the factors influencing intrapopulation genetic diversity in dioecious flowering plants by integrating genetic and ecological data from studies published up to 2025. We show that pollination mode, endemism, and conservation status significantly shape genetic diversity patterns, with endemic and threatened species exhibiting the ...

Flavodiiron proteins (FDPs) are di‐iron enzymes that reduce NO and/or O2 with distinct substrate selectivity. We have produced E. coli FDP variants targeting second coordination‐sphere residues and determined their structures. Although the kinetics remained unchanged, the E.

Forest composition and diversity buffer microclimates and enhance productivity
The findings show that tree diversity and the proportion of fast‐growing, early successional tree species can increase canopy cover and buffer the microclimates of young forests, benefiting the physiology and productivity of slower‐growing, shade‐tolerant tree species.
