Biology of the peregrine and gyrfalcon in Greenland
Meddelelser om Grønland. Bioscience, 1984A ten year study began in 1972 in West Greenland to investigate the breeding biology of the peregrine falcon. Data on nesting gyrfalcons were also collected. Thirty-four peregrine nesting sites were examined in the 6050 km2 inland study area near Søndre Strømfjord. Limited research also centered in Disko Bugt and Frederikshåb.

Southernmost record of Gyrfalcon in California
Central Valley Birds, 2009We documented the occurrence of a Gyrfalcon (Falco rusticolus) in the San Joaquin Valley in November 2007. This represents the 11th record of this species in California, the third for the Central Valley (first for the San Joaquin Valley), and the most southerly record for California by more than 300 km.
