Simultaneous Robotic Manipulation and Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging: Feasibility in Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
An unanswered question concerning the neural basis of autism spectrum disorders (ASD) is how sensorimotor deficits in individuals with ASD are related to abnormalities of brain function.

Generating Cell Surface Nucleated Hydrogels with an Artificial Membrane‐Binding Transglutaminase

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Cell‐based therapies require advanced strategies to enhance cell delivery and bioactivity. Cell membrane engineering offers an avenue to impart new functions to delivered cells to boost their viability and function. Here, an artificial membrane‐binding transglutaminase is generated and biophysically characterized.

In vivo characterization of hippocampal electrophysiological processes in the heterozygous Pten knockout model of autism [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
While cognitive deficits have been described in the heterozygous Pten (+/-) KO mouse model of autism, little work has been done to demonstrate how corresponding in vitro physiological alterations in this model may underpin these cognitive deficits in ...

Universal Neuromorphic Element: NbOx Memristor with Co‐Existing Volatile, Non‐Volatile, and Threshold Switching

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A W/NbOx/Pt memristor demonstrates the coexistence of volatile, non‐volatile, and threshold switching characteristics. Volatile switching serves as a reservoir computing layer, providing dynamic short‐term processing. Non‐volatile switching, stabilized through ISPVA, improves reliable long‐term readout. Threshold switching operates as a leaky integrate

Neural mechanisms of different types of envy: a meta-analysis of activation likelihood estimation methods for brain imaging

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology
Previous studies have a lack of meta-analytic studies comparing the trait (personality) envy, social comparison envy, and love–envy, and the understanding of the similarities and differences in the neural mechanisms behind them is relatively unclear.

A Van der Waals Optoelectronic Synapse with Tunable Positive and Negative Post‐Synaptic Current for Highly Accurate Spiking Neural Networks

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A van der Waals optoelectronic synaptic device based on a ReS2/WSe2 heterostructure and oxygen‐treated h‐BN is presented, which enables both positive and negative PSCs through photocarrier polarity reversal. Bidirectional plasticity arises from gate‐tunable band bending and charge trapping‐induced quasi‐doping.

Age-related regional homogeneity changes in first-episode major depressive disorder: a REST-meta-MDD project study

open access: yesBMC Psychiatry
Major depressive disorder (MDD) is associated with altered spontaneous brain activity, commonly assessed by regional homogeneity (ReHo), a measure of local synchronization of neuronal synchronization.
