Dispersed conducting tissue fromthe Gzhelian (Saberian) of the Kounov Coal in the Kladno-Rakovník Basin, Czech Republic

open access: yesGeologia Croatica
The late Pennsylvanian Kounov coal seam yielded exceptionally well-preserved vascular elements. Their determination is questionable due to their fragmentary nature. Scalariform, reticulated and pitted tracheids prevail. They are comparable with the sphenopsid plants Arthropitys and Sphenophyllum.

Association of late Carboniferous wildfire records with interglacial climate change in North China Platform

open access: yesMeitan xuebao
Currently, global warming driven by anthropogenic factors such as the massive emission of greenhouse gases is gradually transitioning the Earth’s surface climate from a Quaternary glacial period to an interglacial or greenhouse climate, accompanied by ...

The chemical and mineral composition of volcanic ash in the Upper Carboniferous deposits of the Usolka section (South Ural, Russia)

open access: yes, 2020
© 2020 IOP Publishing Ltd. All rights reserved. Volcanic ash from the Usolka section, which is proposed as an international standard for global correlation of the lower boundaries of the Kasimovian and Gzhelian Stages, is considered.

Biostratigraphic and biogeographic constraints on the Carboniferous to Jurassic Cache Creek Terrane in central British Columbia

open access: yes, 2001
Conodonts, radiolarians, foraminiferids, and corals provide constraints on the geology and tectonics of the Nechako region. They also support the notion that the Cache Creek Terrane is allochthonous with respect to the North American craton.

Stratigraphic development in the allochthonous units of the Gamonedo-Cabrales Area (Picos de Europa, Asturias, NW Spain)

open access: yes, 1997
Structural and palaeontological (mainly fusulinids) studies of the area between Gamonedo and Cabrales have shown the existence of more than nine tectonically superposed units showing differences in the uncohformable syn-orogenic successions deposited in ...

A new palynological assemblage (Carboniferous) from the Chacoparaná Basin, Western Gondwana, and revision of the biostratigraphic scheme

open access: yes, 2019
A new palynozone for the upper Serpukhovian–Bashkirian (uppermost Mississippian–lower Pennsylvanian) strata of the Chacoparaná Basin (Argentina) is formally proposed based on palynological assemblages from the Santiago Temple YCF.CO1, YCF.CO2 and YCF.CO3
